WASHINGTON – To prevent thousands of people with disabilities from experiencing homelessness or unnecessary institutionalization, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) today announced nearly $98 million in funding for 13 state housing agencies for rental assistance to extremely low-income persons with disabilities, many of whom are transitioning out of institutional settings or are at high risk of homelessness.

Projects will create over 1,700 construction jobs across Massachusetts REVERE – February 7, 2013 – Continuing the Patrick-Murray Administration’s commitment to improving housing infrastructure as a means to growing local businesses and improving communities, Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Greg Bialecki today announced $67 million in affordable housing resources and tax credits for 23 developments in 21 communities across the Commonwealth.

CHAPA is introducing the second phase of its Welcome Home Massachusetts initiative: Technical Assistance Grants will be offered to communities to both energize and mobilize local support for affordable housing or create additional affordable housing opportunities. The Welcome Home Massachusetts grant funding will be provided to each recipient community to advance a specific housing development or create a better environment in which to advance a local housing agenda.

BOSTON – January 10, 2013 – On the heels of recent good news about fewer foreclosures, rising home prices and increased home sales comes another encouraging sign for the Massachusetts housing market. MassHousing reported today that it provided more than $1 billion in home mortgage loans last year, exceeding by 52 percent the Agency’s previous record for homeownership lending in a calendar year.
