Job Description

For more than 30 years, Hildebrand Family Self-Help Center (Hildebrand) has been working with families experiencing homelessness, providing shelter, supportive and stabilization services, and permanent homes. Hildebrand’s vision is every family has a home, and the organization works relentlessly to realize that vision for each and every family.

 

Hildebrand is now hiring a Development Manager to join the Chief Development Officer and Chief Executive Officer in ongoing strategies and initiatives to increase the impact of Hildebrand’s philanthropy program as well as expand the visibility and presence of the organization. This is a new position, and the Development Manager will be responsible for a diverse set of responsibilities that support the philanthropy program, public agency applications and reporting, and marketing/communications activities.   

 

What you will do

Philanthropy

  • Build, maintain, and increase a portfolio of donors from individuals, foundations, corporations, and organizations as sources.
  • Research grant opportunities from corporate and foundation sources; develop and maintain annual calendar of grant applications; research and write grants, and ensure all deadlines are met.

Administrative

  • Maintain donor database and acknowledgement systems.
  • Work with Finance to reconcile donations monthly.
  • Generate Donor Perfect reports monthly and cumulatively to track results.

Public Agencies

  • Research grant opportunities from public agencies and write grants for public agency funding and ensure submission deadlines are met.

Marketing and Communications

  • Develop and maintain an annual calendar of all marketing and communications activities including electronic newsletters; blogs; Annual Report; promotional flyers and materials; social media; website

 

What you will bring

  • 5-7 years of experience as a Development professional
  • Commitment to mission-driven nonprofit organizations
  • An understanding of and empathy for those currently experiencing homelessness
  • Familiarity with Donor Perfect and/or other fundraising databases
  • Familiarity with Constant Contact, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Word Press
  • A strong commitment to a multicultural, diverse work environment
  • Highly organized
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Sense of humor
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds
