Job Description

Reports to Director of Rental Business Development.  Leads ongoing effort to update existing products and develop new products, which may include but not be limited to permanent loan products, construction or bridge loan products, acquisition loan products, predevelopment loan products, and soft or subordinate mortgage loan products. Tracks characteristics and metrics of MassHousing’s current loan products, as well as reports on the affordable housing lending landscape in Massachusetts – products, needs, markets, competitors. etc.  Utilizes analytical models and frameworks to test existing/potential loan products, including profitability analysis and develops a framework to identify portfolio loans that are or will become eligible for refinancing.  Assists management of annual, 3 year and 5 year origination goals and conducts outreach to develop relationships with potential capital sources.   Serves as key MassHousing partner to capital sources such as FNMA, Freddie Mac, AFLCIO, financial lending institutions and others.  Conducts product training for MassHousing staff and assists development of outreach strategies and marketing materials.  Researches equity investment vehicles, grant funding for mission related soft debt products, as well as financing techniques/tools such as crowdfunding, fintech solutions and venture capital as vehicles to move the mission and/or business of the Agency.  

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Planning or related field preferred.  Minimum of 7-10 years of increasingly responsible experience in real estate investing, mortgage lending, and/or real estate finance, preferably within the multi-family and/or affordable multi-family industry. Experience in real estate lending or investing, preferably in a product development and/or product management role.  Experience with multi-family lending and/or investing – preferably affordable.  Excellent project and process management skills.  Ability to work and partner with multiple internal and external stakeholders.  Exceptional oral and written communication skills
