Way Finders is currently seeking a full-time Director, Employment and Housing Education ServicesThe Director supports our mission through the successful administration and oversight of myriad programs, including Employment Support Services, Accountable Care Organization Flex Housing, and Fair Housing.
 
The candidate may work in a hybrid-remote capacity but must live within commutable distance.  Onsite work and meetings are required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the successful administration of assigned programs through leadership of a team, to include providing training, guidelines on program processes, technical guidance, and communicating and maintaining set standards
  • Ensure successful and efficient coordination and delivery of services
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and successfully achieving the priorities, goals, and metrics within the department’s annual business plan; complete all quarterly Board reporting for business planning updates and key performance indicators
  • Contribute to efforts to affect local, state, and federal policy to enhance the programs and the overall success of the organization
  • Responsible for timely and accurate measurement and reporting of all records, including program services, successes, and productivity to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and funding requirements, and to maximize reimbursement
  • Conduct quality assurance activities and implement any necessary corrective action to ensure customer satisfaction and achievement of program goals and objectives
  • Perform outreach to community agencies and existing and potential community partners
  • Maintain effective relationships with existing and potential funding sources, local, state and federal officials, and agencies to ensure sufficient collaboration and support for programs and services
  • Remain current with the trends and developments in program design and funding within the field of employment support services, affordable housing, Fair Housing, and MassHealth Flex Housing
  • Represent the organization at local, state, and national provider/ funder meetings
  • Contribute to budget planning, and monitor budgets and fiscal performance of all programs; work in collaboration with Resource Development on grant renewals, or potential new funding sources
  • Facilitate and attend regularly scheduled team meetings
  • Proactively identify and inform management/leadership of any issues that may adversely affect the department or organization

Supervisory responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate and provide timely feedback to staff on performance-related matters; assess staff members’ strengths and developmental needs; implement performance plans to ensure the development and/or maintenance of necessary skills
  • Set effective and achievable training plans for new staff members; evaluate and make process improvements based on feedback
  • Hire new/replacement staff in an efficient and equitable manner, following recruiting process guidelines
  • Provide proper support and mentoring to supervisory-level employees to ensure they take ownership of their own hiring needs
  • Those directly and indirectly supervised will program managers and their staff

Requirements include:

  • 7 years' experience in stabilization, employment, and/or housing/social services, or a related role; a combination of experience plus a Bachelor's degree may be a substitute
  • Progressively responsible mid-to-senior-level leadership experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capacity to relate to diverse communities in an inclusive manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (including Excel), databases, and organizational/analysis-related applications, and comfort learning new technologies
  • Experience developing trainings and systems that serve to build efficient programs and increase staff’s knowledge and commitment
  • Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred
