Job Description

If a career change is your goal and you want to support-people who are experiencing homelessness seek permanent solutions- St. Francis House is actively seeking a Benefits Coordinator! 

 

The Benefits Coordinator proactively engages individuals experiencing homelessness to educate and assist in the application process for government and community benefits. The Benefits Coordinator conducts needs assessments; prioritizing those who are eligible for entitlement programs/cash benefits and/or Social Security. The Benefits Coordinator collaborates with internal and external community resources to support the individual’s goals in sustaining and maintain housing, income maximization, and behavioral health benefits.

 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and experience providing direct service to people experiencing homelessness or vulnerable populations required. Further education preferred.
  • Experience providing case management services, employment, career counseling, job training or other workforce development related services required.
  • SOAR certification or ability to participate in training to attain SAOR certification within 3 months of employment required. 
  • Lived experience of homelessness and/or recovery a plus.
