BOSTON – Tuesday, March 6, 2012 – The Patrick-Murray Administration today announced an increase in fuel assistance for low-income Massachusetts residents, bringing the total Massachusetts LIHEAP allocation to $153.6 million in Fiscal Year 2012. The increase brings the maximum deliverable fuel benefit per household to $1,095, a slight increase over Fiscal Year 2011. The maximum utility benefit will increase to $635 from $525 earlier this year.

Washington, DC – The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) today announced the first step of a Real-Estate Owned (REO) Initiative targeted to hardest-hit metropolitan areas announced in August 2011. Investors interested in participating may “pre-qualify” to establish eligibility to bid on transactions in the initial pilot phase as well as subsequent phases.

Today, the Administration announced important enhancements to the Making Home Affordable Program, including the Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP), to expand the reach of the program to help additional homeowners stay in their homes and strengthen hard-hit communities.
