CHAPA is seeking an energetic individual to join its staff as a Program Manager to coordinate two programs: The Massachusetts Homeownership Collaborative and CHAPA’s monitoring efforts on Chapter 40B. The Massachusetts Homeownership Collaborative is an initiative that supports and promotes homebuyer education and promotes an ongoing dialogue among lenders, non-profits, and others in the housing field. Chapter 40B is the state statute that encourages the production of affordable housing in all of the Commonwealth’s communities.

Effective Dec. 31, FHA said it will not issue any new case numbers for lenders looking to refinance borrowers into FHASecure loans; HUD will honor any loans for which a lender has taken an application and requested a case number prior to Dec. 31, it said.

Boston Globe - US Representative Barney Frank said yesterday he wants the government to spend $10 billion to jump-start the stalled development of affordable rental housing nationwide, including 31 projects in Massachusetts that can't move forward because of a lack of funds.
