On Friday, March 15th, Governor Patrick filed An Act Financing the Production and Preservation of Housing for Low and Moderate Income Residents. The bill authorizes a $567 million four year capital plan. It also carries over $504.5 million in uncommitted funds from the 2008 bond bill for a total of $1,071,500.

State Updates Governor Patrick Releases FY2014 Budget Proposal The Patrick-Murray Administration has released its FY2014 budget proposal. The Governor’s proposal maintains level funding for most of CHAPA’s top housing priorities. The Governor also proposes a new Housing Stabilization and Preservation Trust Fund to invest DHCD savings into effective housing and homelessness prevention programs.

According to the CBPP: "Automatic, across-the-board funding cuts in most federal programs (or “sequestration”) had been scheduled to begin on January 2, but the “fiscal cliff” budget deal enacted by President Obama and Congress delays these cuts until March 1, 2013. The budget deal also reduces the amount to be sequestered in fiscal year 2013 by $24 billion, to $85 billion.

BOSTON – Thursday, February 14, 2013 – Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray today joined U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) New England Regional Administrator Barbara Fields and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Regional Director Christie Hager to announce a $5.3 million award to the Patrick-Murray Administration’s Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) as part of the state’s effort to increase supportive housing units and help hundreds of residents with disabilities avoid homelessness or unnecessary institutionalization.
