The Federal Housing Finance Agency Releases National Housing Trust Fund Allocation

In April, The Federal Housing Finance Agency released the 2018 national Housing Trust Fund (HTF) annual allocation to HUD. The HTF targets funding to help build and preserve affordable housing with a particular emphasis on rental housing for extremely low-income households. The first allocation from the trust fund was disbursed to the states in 2016. In Massachusetts, these funds helped create or preserve 88 units across 7 projects, including 11 units specifically for homeless women, 12 units for homeless veterans, and 9 elderly units.
