Our dialogue series aims to cultivate conversations that explore affordable housing and community development planning issues.

Through the series, we invite productive discussion, and a safe space to express your opinions on topics you care about! Join us as we host the Metropolitan Area Planning Council’s Community Engagement team for a conversation about regional solutions to the housing crisis.  We’ll introduce you to MAPC’s regional plan, MetroCommon 2050, discuss the role that regionalism and collaboration can play in addressing Massachusetts’ ongoing housing crisis, and collectively explore solutions that draw on the Boston Region’s many different resources and strengths.

Our Presenters:
Carolina Prieto is a Community Engagement Specialist in MAPC’s Department of Strategic Initiatives. Ms. Prieto develops and implements community engagement strategies that use creative techniques and that have a special focus on including historically underrepresented groups. As a skilled trainer and facilitator, she has developed Equitable and Inclusive Community Engagement trainings for staff and community partners.

Christian Brandt joined the Metropolitan Area Planning Council in November 2018 as a Community Engagement Coordinator in MAPC’s Department of Strategic Initiatives. In this role, Mr. Brandt supports MAPC’s project managers with designing and implementing hands-on and creative outreach strategies, planning public events, facilitating public meetings, and mobilizing new and existing allies for particular projects. In particular, Mr. Brandt works to ensure that under-represented groups are included in planning processes and that the language and outreach utilized in each project is accessible to the public.

We hope to see you on Thursday, March 14th, 2019!
