Matched Savings is a critical strategy for closing racial and ethnic wealth gaps and
advancing economic prosperity in our region. Matched Savings programs allow
low-to-moderate-income families to increase assets, build wealth, and cultivate a
healthy financial foundation by matching a household’s own savings with those
provided by benevolent funders, including state, federal, and philanthropic funds.

Join Midas Collaborative and United Way of Massachusetts Bay for a virtual legislative
breakfast discussing this strategy and CHAPA priority bills S.628 & H.1023
which would create a matched savings program to assist individuals and families
across the Commonwealth.

Juan Bonilla, United Way VP of Economic Inclusion and Wealth Building, will moderate
a discussion about this proven solution featuring the bill’s lead sponsors, Senator Jamie
Eldridge and Representative Carmine Gentile, plus Senator Pavel Payano and Kambiz
Maali, Deputy Director of Resident Services Department at Cambridge Housing Authority.
