Join us coming Monday, November 18th, 9:30 - 11 am at MassHousing Conference Room for CHAPA's Homelessness Committee meeting. At the meeting we will be discussing the Right to Counsel bill and seeking input from members on the language. We shall also be reviewing the advocacy successes as we are coming towards the end of 2019.

The Right to Counsel bill provides tenants facing eviction right to counsel and addresses the imbalance in attorney representation which can help preserve tenancy. The bill also proposes a plan to study and provide recommendations to build upon the housing stability work of existing organizations to prevent homelessness and promote housing stability. Click here for information on the bill. Click here for the latest language draft or click here for the section by section summary.
