At this Committee meeting, CHAPA is facilitating an Tour in South End of Boston. We shall be convening at 9:45 am at Boston Center for Arts  (551 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02116) before the tour. Before our tour, we will hear from representatives from the Children's Investment Fund and Ellis Memorial to learn about the center, how it was created, and who it serves.  They will then lead us on a walking tour of the Ellis Memorial development at 58 Berkeley St, Boston.

At this Homelessness Committee Meeting - Summer Tour, we will explore the cross-sector connection between housing and early education. With the tour of Ellis Memorial which is an Early Education Center located amidst multiple affordable housing developments, we hope to better understand the impact housing has on other sectors.

Ellis Memorial was developed using Early Education and Out of School Time (EEOST).  The Housing Bond bill that passed last session, included $45,000,000 for EEOST grants to help to non-profits build early education and out of school time program facilities that serve low-income children. The program is administered through the Children’s Investment Fund at CEDAC and aided in development of Ellis Memorial.
