About POAH:  Preservation of Affordable Housing, Inc., or POAH, is a non-profit developer committed to preserving and developing affordable & mixed-income rental housing around the country.  Based in Boston, with branch offices in Chicago & Washington, DC., POAH currently owns and manages approximately 10,000 affordable rental homes for families, seniors and the working poor in 11 states and the District of Columbia.

About the Opportunity:  POAH is currently seeking a Boston based Senior IT Associate/Support Technician. The ideal candidate will be a bright and dynamic person with demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines.

 

This is a new role that will be part of an existing Information Technology Department reporting to the Vice President of Information Technology for POAH.  This role is located in the Boston area and will require travel as needed.  The position will be focused on supporting ongoing IT projects and initiatives that include day to day computer operations, new construction projects, video conferencing systems, computer hardware, networks, security cameras, door access systems, and a variety of other technical responsibilities providing support to the POAH organization.

This individual will support corporate office locations and users in Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and other locations.  This individual will work on a mixture of projects and support activities such as:

 

  • Ensuring the operation of our networks
  • Supporting VoIP phone systems, computers, applications, infrastructure, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and peripherals
  • Inventorying IT equipment assets
  • Managing and supporting iPhones/iPads

Experience & Knowledge

Candidates for this position should possess 5-10 years of hands-on work experience in a Windows Environment with increasing responsibilities. Additional experience required includes:

  • Strong knowledge of IP Fundamentals including IP, DHCP, and DNS;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory 2012;
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPN connectivity, Firewalls, Routers, Wireless Internet Access, OpenDNS); and,
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office software.

Affordable housing experience and relevant certifications (A+, MCP, CCNA, MCSE, MCITP, Project Management, etc.) and experience (Okta, Office 365, KnowBe4, security cameras, door access, and Video conferencing) are preferred, but not required.  Job on-boarding and training will be provided.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel periodically
  • Ability to deliver and connect computers and peripherals that may weigh up to 50 lbs.
