Job Description

The Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) is a non-profit, quasi-public organization and a leader in affordable housing finance.  MHP works with communities, developers and borrowers to create innovative policy and financing solutions that provide affordable homes and better lives for the people of Massachusetts.  MHP administers the ONE Mortgage Program, the state’s most affordable mortgage product for first-time homebuyers of low- and moderate-incomes.  At MHP, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

The Program Associate will be an integral part of the Homeownership team, contributing to the success and growth of the ONE Mortgage Program and its subsidiary, ONE+Boston.  Collaborating with key stakeholders in the public and private sectors, the Program Associate will identify, build and maintain relationships with lending, nonprofit and municipal partners to expand the reach of the ONE Mortgage Program to underserved communities of first time homebuyers across Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for inquiries from homebuyers, lenders and community organizations, ensuring that the mission of MHP is effectively communicated. 
  • Market the ONE Mortgage Program to prospective homebuyers and lenders.
  • Collect monthly servicing data from participating lenders, format and upload data into servicing database and resolve loan fulfillment issues with lender servicers.
  • Initiate bi-monthly subsidy wire to participating lenders including verifying accuracy of legal documentation for ONE Mortgage loan closings, producing wiring reports, and documenting funding information in servicing database accurately.
  • Process homeowner requests for mortgage discharges and subordination requests including receiving information, coordinating counseling referrals, repayment calculations invoicing borrowers, documenting recapture of funds, and discharging subsidy mortgage in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial, community and other program reports.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned to achieve the mission of MHP.

 

Required Competencies and Skills:

 

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Strong computer proficiency, including spreadsheet, word processing, and database programs (experience with GIS maps a plus)
  • Direct experience managing time sensitive projects and effectively prioritizing duties in a fast paced environment
  • Prior experience in banking or affordable housing a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license
