Program Advisor (Bilingual)

At Way Finders, we are passionately invested in lifting up the region’s people, places, and systems.  Way Finders provides transformative help to tens of thousands of people each year.  Our housing and social services organization is currently seeking a full-time bilingual (English/Spanish) Program (Housing Supports) AdvisorThe Housing Supports Advisor will further our mission by providing support and stabilization services to clients at risk of housing instability directly or indirectly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

What you’ll do:

  • Meet with clients at risk of housing instability to determine if they need Housing Transition Supports or Housing Sustaining Supports
  • Provide Housing Transition Supports in the form of budgeting; assistance with completing benefit applications; identifying and assisting with potential barriers to housing options; and more
  • Provide Housing Sustaining Supports in the form of coaching on how to be a good neighbor and tenant; assisting in the resolution of potential evictions, educating tenants on the eviction process and housing court system; and more
  • Conduct light case management
  • Process applications as needed and assigned
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely case notes in database/systems
  • Provide information and outreach to the social service network, clients, stakeholders, and constituents
  • Travel to provide services from multiple office locations and/or community-based settings within Western Massachusetts
  • Conduct evening and/or weekend workshops in person or virtually as appropriate and necessary

What we’re looking for:

  • Two years’ equivalent experience in social/human services, or a related role; a combination of experience and a high school diploma (or equivalent) may be a substitute
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) written and verbal skills are required
  • Experience conducting housing searches is preferred, as is case management and groupwork/triaging experience
  • Familiarity with Hampden and Hampshire County agencies that offer services to low-and-moderate income (LMI) households
  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office, database systems, and comfort learning new technologies
  • Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention-to-detail
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; reliable vehicle
