The Land Use & Development Coordinator provides technical, administrative, and customer service support to the Land Use and Development Department, Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA), Affordable Housing Trust, and related boards and committees.
The Coordinator,works under the general supervision of the Senior Planner - Zoning/Special Projects while providing support to the ZBA and Planning Department. The Coordinator's work functions include serving as a first point of contact with the public and other departments, performing research and preparing documents, maintaining records, ensuring board processes meet legal requirements, and reviewing zoning applications for completeness, accuracy and legal compliance.
The Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Hingham's affordable housing goals. The Coordinator role includes working with DHCD to ensure new affordable units qualify for inclusion on the state Subsidized Housing Inventory (SHI), monitors existing units, and supports the work of the Hingham Affordable Housing Trust.
