Job Description

The Suffolk University Law School Housing Discrimination Testing Program (HDTP) is seeking excellent candidates for a full-time, 12-month Clinical Fellow position to advance our mission. Experience in fair housing, rental search assistance, and/or social services is a plus, but is not required. Spanish proficiency is strongly desired but not required. Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse groups, including based on: race, national origin, immigration status, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status, is also strongly preferred. While the position is remote, the person will be required to attend some in-person meetings, so the person must be able to commute to Boston, when needed.

Position Description:
The Clinical Fellow will work in the HDTP, which is located within Suffolk Law School’s Clinical Programs. The Fellow will help families and individuals who may be experiencing discrimination in the housing market find housing. The HDTP will provide fair housing training to the Fellow so that the Fellow will be able to spot fair housing issues and to help tenants successfully navigate the housing market. The Fellow will also assist with HDTP’s education and outreach efforts to help people throughout our communities understand their fair housing rights and responsibilities. This position will be fully remote with some in-person meetings.

Hours and Duration: This position is a full-time, 12-month contract. Continuation of the position is not expected, but may be possible contingent on future funding, program needs, financial considerations, and the Fellow’s performance in carrying out the position’s responsibilities, as well as adherence to the relevant terms of employment of the University and Law School.
