Job Description

SUMMARY

The Home Modification Loan Program’s mission is to enable individuals with disabilities to continue to live in their home, be as independent as possible and continue to play an active role in his/her community. The Program Coordinator will support the Program Manager in administration, loan servicing and marketing of the Home Modification Loan Program (HMLP) for the Cape Cod & Island (CCI) and MetroWest (MW) regions.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Retrieve incoming phone calls, voicemails and emails and provide clients with HMLP application materials.
  • Update borrower database with applicant information.
  • Review borrower applications to ensure all documentation is received for approval of application and set up initial borrower file, as required for underwriting.
  • Assist borrowers in the servicing of loans (subordinations, pay-offs, discharge documents), as requested.
  • Interface with the Division Analyst to communicate borrower balances and payment inquiries.
  • Assist the Program Manager with ongoing outreach efforts for both regions (CCI and MW).
  • Assist in the maintenance of borrower files and mailing lists.
  • Participate in supervision, SMOC committees and multi-disciplinary teams, as required.
  • Engage all clients by understanding and addressing their needs whether within or outside the scope of work.
  • Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with clients and staff in other areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with program/department/funder requirements, and SMOC policies & procedures.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree (equivalent managerial/social service experience may be considered in lieu of college degree)
  • Strong customer service, organizational, time management, attention to detail, and follow-through skills
  • Administrative experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database entry required
  • Basic math skills
  • Notary license preferred or ability to become a Notary Public

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to travel to local and regional area meetings via personal vehicle.
  • Must be willing to travel on a limited basis to national trainings or meetings.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for a prolonged period.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and complete extensive paperwork.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

  • Directly reports to HMLP Program Manager
  • Indirectly reports to Division Director, Energy Conservation & Loan Assistance Programs
  • No direct reports.
  • No indirect reports.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires the use of a personal vehicle. Travel within Massachusetts is required. This position will also visit residences that are not handicap accessible. As part of the responsibilities of this position, the HMLP Program Coordinator will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A successful background check is required.
