Job Description

We are seeking a talented Facilities Technician to join our team of four, who are tasked with maintaining efficient operation and upkeep of the agency’s properties, buildings, equipment, and grounds. 

 

Brief description of responsibilities:

  • Perform semi-skilled and skilled construction, modification, maintenance, and repair on a variety of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment within the Victory Programs property portfolio. 
  • Respond to work requests and perform trade activities such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC,  and carpentry work.  Repair floors, tile, drywall, window, locks, etc.
  • Perform grounds maintenance and snow removal activities including plowing, snow thrower operation, shoveling and sidewalk clearing.
  • Empty trash and remove trash from assigned sites, landscaped areas, and properties.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

 

Your ability to respond to immediate facilities needs off hours, emergencies, and other urgent property related incidents is critical in this role. 

You communicate professionally and effectively with co-workers, managers, agency residents/clients and the public sufficient to exchange or convey information.

Our work is unpredictable so the ability to exhibit flexibility and adaptability are important on the Facilities team.

We practice Safety First where safety is the primary focus while conducting all work activities.

 

  • Five years’ experience performing semi-skilled maintenance and facilities work in the areas of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform physical labor.  Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Working knowledge of Outlook email and basic computer skills
  • Ability to use varied hand, power tools and other facilities equipment
  • Valid MA driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Bilingual capabilities a plus

Days and Schedules :   Monday-Friday (40 hours/week) - 7:30am to 3:30pm.
