Director of Operations
Overview: Franklin County Regional Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) is seeking a creative individual to support and work in conjunction with the Executive Director in a complex and diverse regional public housing, community development, and redevelopment organization. The incumbent must maintain high professional standards, work effectively with the Executive Director, assist in sustaining a positive and productive work force, and assure dedication to the highest standards of public service and trust. This position requires a personal and professional commitment to the principles of affordable housing and community development to people of limited income, affirmative action, and equal opportunity.
The Director of Operations assists the Executive Director and all Departmental Directors in planning, administering. directing, supervising, and coordinating all functions and phases of the Authority’s operations consistent with its mission and its contractual obligations.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess outstanding judgment, objectivity, and demonstrate the ability to handle complex problems; and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team format. This position will be a key connector between administration, finance, consultants, and departmental leadership. Specific qualifications include:
- The ability to develop effective and efficient processes, software, systems, and sub-systems.
- They must possess excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to develop positive relationships with funding sources, public officials, the media, and other organizations and agencies.
- A working knowledge of public laws, regulations, contract procedures, and policies relevant to housing, community development, and redevelopment organizations is preferred.
- They must be sensitive to the needs of residents and clients, and the ability to relate well to those residents and clients.
