Job Description

Director of Finance & Accounting

The Director of Finance and Accounting reports to the CFO and oversees the fiscal operations of the agency and supervises the revenue and receivables, general accounting, payables, purchasing and budgeting functions.  Responsibilities include: oversee the fiscal operations of the agency, including the computerized system of accounting and budgeting; provide leadership and supervision to staff and effectively communicate expectations and desired outcomes; includes training, staff development, goal setting, performance management; develop and maintain internal financial control procedures, and maintain accuracy of all general ledger accounts for the agency and all subsidiaries; Monitor cash flow within the agency; assist the Chief Financial Officer in planning and coordinating agency audits and reviews and maintain required documents pertaining to agency management including grants, contracts, leases and insurance policies.

 

 

Qualifications include:

  • BA/BS Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field required and 7-10 years’ experience in fiscal management required.
  • Masters and CPA preferred
  • Experience with federal & state funded contracts & grants required.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of the principles and practices of government contract compliance, non-profit accounting, auditing, and financial reporting standards.
  • Must have excellent analytical ability and research skills.
  • Demonstrated project management and planning skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel & non-profit accounting software.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • CPA
