Job Description

The Town of Brookline Planning Department is seeking a Community Planner. Under the direction of the Assistant Director for Community Planning, this position will assist with affordable housing initiatives and with administration and oversight for the Town's federal entitlement programs - CDBG and HOME.

The Community Planner will perform general planning, program management and administrative work in support of the Town's Housing and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs and other federal, state and local grant-based programs. Responsibilities may include program management, grantee oversight and monitoring, reporting, community outreach, and other program-specific technical assistance. Must ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and represent the Town's interests during oversight of Town-assisted projects: Provide staff support to the Housing Advisory Board, CDBG Advisory Committee and other Boards, Commissions or Committees as necessary.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in planning, public administration or a related field; Master's Degree desirable; three to five years of experience in a community development-related program; housing programs administration, grant administration and/or program management; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Massachusetts Driver's License, Class D.
