Job Description

The Assistant Property Manager oversees the management of affordable units in approximately 20 different properties throughout the City of Somerville while progressively improving and expanding the management capabilities of the organization and leading the strategic c planning and department development efforts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Requirements:

  • Stay current with changing technology, including software and SCC programs.
  • Connect with residents and support them with their residency at SCC.
  • Manage the rental receivables and invoicing to support the financials of the portfolio

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities):

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training in affordable housing property management experience, preferably in a non-profit environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in computer systems including MS Office Suites, working knowledge of Excel and Yardi Breeze.
  • Compliance expertise with federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
  • Task-oriented with strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Self-directed and proven skill to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make appropriate judgment and decisions.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing multiple projects to drive results.
  • Works efficiently in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

  • None Required

Location:       Onsite

Duration:      Full time

Hours:  Monday – Friday, 8:30am 4:30 pm or 9:00am -5:00pm

  • Local travel to SCC properties required as needed.
  • Maybe required to work overtime (e.g., nights or weekends) to meet tenant & staff needs, as well as monthly, quarterly and/or annual compliance deadlines.

Salary Range: $   60,000 - $65,000             Based on experience & qualifications.
