State Updates Senate Committee on Ways and Means Releases Budget; Affordable Housing a Priority On May 19, Senate Ways and Means released its FY’11 budget proposal. The funding recommendations would provide appropriate levels of funding for several key affordable housing and homelessness prevention priorities. This includes $37.9 million for the Mass. Rental Voucher Program, $64.5 million for State Public Housing, and $1 million for RAFT.

WASHINGTON - U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan announced today that the Obama Administration will work with Congress to find ways to help state and local governments more effectively combat the ongoing effects of the housing crisis and home foreclosures through additional funding for the Department’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) and foreclosure prevention counseling.
