As the Legislature finalizes the FY2019 supplemental budget, please contact leaders in the House and Senate to ask them to include critical funding for down payment assistance for low- and moderate-income first time home buyers!
Leaders in both the House and Senate are working to reconcile the differences between their respective budgets and we need your help getting the down payment assistance program in the final budget!
The Chairs of the Ways & Means Committees will lead the process to finalize the budget. You can reach out by email to:
- Rep. Aaron Michlewitz, Chair, House Committee on Ways & Means - Aaron.M.Michlewitz@mahouse.gov
- Sen. Michael Rodrigues, Chair, Senate Committee on Ways & Means - Michael.Rodrigues@masenate.gov
You can use the following message:
Thanks to the House and Senate for including strong investments in affordable housing in the FY2019 supplemental budget! As the Legislature works to finalize the budget, I am contacting you to ask that the final supplemental budget includes $10 million for a down payment assistance program (line item 7004-1010) for low- and moderate-income first time home buyers. This will help these households build wealth while creating stronger communities in Massachusetts. Thank you!
You can also contact your State Representative and Senator to ask them to speak with the Ways & Means chairs in support of the down payment assistance program.
