Governor Baker Signs Supplemental FY2019 Budget!

On December 17, Governor Baker signed most parts of the FY2019 supplemental budget to closeout fiscal year 2019. Click here to see Governor's letter and click here for the Legislature's version of the budget. 

The housing highlights in the final FY2019 supplemental budget include:

• The budget includes a $2.5 million allocation for the down payment assistance program for low- and moderate-income first-time home buyers, to be administered by MassHousing.
   
• The budget includes a little over $ 2 million for a rental and mortgage arrearage assistance pilot program established under Residential Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT). The RAFT Rent Arrearage program is currently being funded out of the Housing Preservation and Stabilization Trust Fund (HPSTF) by DHCD. 

Unfortunately, the $10 million to support the production of housing for extremely low-income households was not included in the final supplemental budget, even after being included in both the House and Senate versions of the supplemental budget.
