Final Housing Bond Bill Approved by House & Senate

Yesterday, the conference committee released its compromise Housing Bond Bill (H.4536), which was quickly taken up and passed by the House and Senate! As the largest housing bond bill ever passed in Massachusetts, this is a historic achievement that will help so many find safe, healthy, and affordable homes!

The bill now heads to the Governor for his signature.

The final bond bill contains the full $1.8 billion capital reauthorization for housing programs; a $5 million expansion for both the state LIHTC and Historic Tax Credit; an expansion of the Community Investment Tax Credit; and extensions of the Brownfields Tax Credit and Housing Development Incentive Program. The bill also creates a commission to study housing for persons with disabilities in Massachusetts. For a full summary of the bill, please click here.
