DHCD and MassHousing Release NOFA for the Community Scale Housing Initiative

The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and MassHousing released a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the second Community Scale Housing Initiative competition.The initiative provides up to $10 million in funding for smaller scale affordable housing projects.  The funding consists of $5 million from DHCD’s Housing Stabilization Fund and a $5 million investment from MassHousing’s Opportunity Fund. A limited number of DHCD’s Section 8 and MRVP rental assistance vouchers will be available.

The initiative supports affordable housing projects of 5-20 units in cities and towns with a population less than 200,000. Projects must also receive a financial commitment from the host community.

Due to the weather and concern, DHCD has rescheduled the question-and-answer session from Wednesday, March 14, to Tuesday, March 20, at 11 a.m.  The rescheduled session will take place in DHCD’s offices at 100 Cambridge Street, Boston, on the second floor.
