CHAPA Submits Comments to HUD on Its Proposed Rule Change to Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing

On March 16, 2020, CHAPA submitted comments to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in response to its proposed change to the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) rule. There were over 900 comments submitted by the March 16th deadline. The proposed regulation would revise the definition of AFFH, develop new metrics for scoring and ranking jurisdictions, and require jurisdictions to certify that they will AFFH by identifying certain steps the jurisdiction will take over the next 5 years.
