This is an important opportunity for housing advocates to meet with legislators to support the policies and resources needed for everyone in Massachusetts to have a safe, healthy, and affordable place to call home!
The Housing Day priorities will include CHAPA's legislative and budget priorities.

- 9:30–11:00 a.m. - Speaking Portion, including presentation of Housing Hero Awards
- 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. - Meetings with Legislators & Folder Drops - Lunch will be available for those staying for meetings with legislators.
CHAPA is glad to help arrange meetings with your legislators! On the event registration form, please let us know if we can assist you in setting meetings with your elected officials.
This year, CHAPA will present our Housing Hero Award to Ways & Means Committee Chairs Rep. Aaron Michlewitz and Sen. Michael Rodrigues for their support of affordable housing, homelessness prevention, and community development resources in the FY2020 state budget. Because of their leadership, the state budget invested millions more in affordable housing programs, including the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program, the Alternative Housing Voucher Program, and Public Housing. The budget also included important changes to make these programs more effective like raising the fair market rents for rental assistance program. The FY2020 budget also included a permanent increase to the state funding match for communities that have enacted the Community Preservation Act, which will mean more resources each year for affordable housing, open space preservation, and recreation!
