Project Manager & Junior Project Manager

Chelsea Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager and a Junior Project Manager to join an expanding Real Estate development team.
The Project Manager will be responsible for all phases of the development process, including engaging appropriate professionals at early feasibility stage, financial, design and legal analysis assembling financing, obtaining permits and approvals, managing budget and schedule. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ year’s experience in real estate project management, design, finance, planning or construction management; strong analytic and organizational skills, initiative and persistence. Bilingual/bicultural highly desirable.
The Junior Project Manager will assist the Real Estate Development staff, including assisting with planning, implementation and monitoring of all phases of the development process. Responsibilities include researching properties, assisting with site due diligence, assembling funding application, tracking projects, managing requisitions and contract compliance, assisting with loan closings and overseeing construction. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, strong organizational and analytic skills, initiative and persistence. Bilingual/ bicultural highly desirable; experience in real estate development, planning, construction or architecture highly desirable.

Resident Asset Development (RAD) Program Associate

The Program Associate position for RAD will assist Chelsea Neighborhood Developers fulfill its mission of creating opportunities for Chelsea residents to invest in the transformation of their own communities. Chelsea Neighborhood Developers believes that as residents develop skills and wealth-building assets such as homes, savings and education, their ability to contribute to the community increases. In turn, as our community strengthens, its residents are more likely to grow and prosper. The Program Associate will be responsible for managing the Financial Empowerment (financial literacy) and VITA (free-tax preparation) Programs; supporting RAD participants through one-on-one counseling and facilitating peer learning; and contributing to crafting programmatic responses to participant needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent Bi-lingual communication skills (Spanish/English); BA degree or 3-5 yrs experience in similar position; Familiarity with MS office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint); Ability to work some nights and weekends; Positive, friendly attitude and ease relating to diverse groups; Genuine enthusiasm for meeting people and for motivating and involving them in community activities; Commitment to, and interest in, economic empowerment; Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a team

Sustainable Communities Program Manager

The Olneyville Housing Corporation (OHC) a community-based development organization, is seeking a talented individual to involve community members in the creation of a comprehensive development strategy for the Olneyville neighborhood. This position will be a part of Rhode Island LISC’s Sustainable Communities Initiative, a national pilot program to guide development and expand partnerships. The goal of the program is a healthy, self-sustaining community that benefits existing residents of the neighborhood and does not displace existing jobs and residents.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist residents, groups, organizations and institutions with identifying neighborhood assets and needs; Work with residents, groups, organizations and institutions to identify and nurture emerging leaders in the neighborhood; Share data and provide access to information for the benefit of residents, groups, organizations and institutions. Compile, assemble and distribute stories about the neighborhood community building, planning and implementation process; Organize and coordinate neighborhood meetings specific to community building and quality of life planning; Engage in neighborhood events for outreach and public relations.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum three years appropriate neighborhood experience; Skills and experience in training and education a plus; Demonstrated experience in an asset-based approach to community organizing a plus; A demonstrated commitment to the revitalization of urban neighborhoods, social justice, and grassroots policy change; Ability to work in evening and weekend hours regularly; Bi-lingual (Spanish and English) required.

Community Action Manager

The Community Action Manager is a new, full-time position at Madison Park Development Corporation, a community development corporation based in the Lower Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. This position will direct outreach workers and teen peer leaders in exciting resident-led initiatives that are helping to transform the community, including a youth collaborative, a voter education and mobilization coalition, a community learning center and advocacy efforts to bring more resources to our neighborhood. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Qualifications: Five years organizing experience; supervisory experience; Preference for work in youth-serving agencies and/or voter mobilization campaigns; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Understand group dynamics and collective decision-making; Fluency in Spanish and English desirable; Familiarity with database software and Microsoft Office programs; Sensitivity to racial and cultural diversity, gender orientation, and differing abilities.

Foreclosure Prevention Specialist

Lawrence CommunityWorks (LCW), a nonprofit community development corporation in Lawrence, is looking for a Foreclosure Prevention Specialist to coordinate the Family Asset Building Department's foreclosure prevention counseling and education efforts.
Responsibilities: Daily interaction and information-sharing with other FAB Counselors;
Perform initial intake for homeowners referred to the program;
Provide appropriate counseling clients at-risk or in foreclosure, including creation and tracking of an action plan for each client;
Maintain a database for case tracking and review;
Write reports on the status and outcomes of clients referred to the program;
Train and provide case support to all Foreclosure Prevention administrative staff;
Act as the chief liaison between clients and lenders in negotiating loan modifications, refinancing, etc.
Communicate with FAB Director on a regular basis;
Attend Foreclosure Prevention meetings, seminars, clinics and events;
Coordinate Foreclosure Prevention Orientations, including guest speaker recruitment;
Research loan programs, grants, down payment assistance programs, credit counseling agencies and refinance programs;
Foster partnerships with professionals in all aspects of the homeownership process such as realtors, bankers, lawyers, home inspectors and insurance agents; and,
Some limited travel required.
Type of Position: 40 hours/week.
