Under the general direction of the Senior Project Director or designee, The Project Director will manage the day-to-day operations of short term and multi-year policy and health services research projects. The Project Director is responsible for the implementation of policy and health services research projects from inception to completion and manages and coordinates these activities undertaken in collaboration with other state agencies. The ideal candidate will have experience and/or interest in policy development specifically around community-based services for elders and people with disabilities. The focus of all work is on the implementation of the Systems Transformation Grant and related activities to support community living opportunities for people of all ages with disabilities. Strong project management skills, understanding of group dynamics and demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders with diverse abilities and backgrounds, and excellent writing skills are required. Knowledge of public policy research, analysis, and program development are strongly preferred. The position is grant-funded through grant completion in 2010. Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI), a private, nonprofit community development corporation providing financing and technical assistance to small business, workforce development and affordable housing projects, seeks a Counselor based in Wiscasset for its Housing Counseling Program.
Responsibilities: Develop public/private partnerships and coordinate housing counseling activities with diverse institutions, organizations, agencies and policymakers to ensure funding and successful program implementation, participant outcomes, and broadest positive impact of the program on beneficiaries. Coordinate, develop and deliver pre and post-purchase housing counseling, including loss mitigation/foreclosure prevention. Coordinate homeownership education, landlord training program and other services for low to moderate-income individuals to support their efforts to build assets through homeownership and become economically self-sufficient.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or at least five years experience in related field preferred. Housing Counseling credentials preferred or coursework in real estate, mortgage brokering, predatory lending, loss mitigation/foreclosure prevention. Strong organizational and administrative skills, financial planning and budgeting knowledge. Effective interpersonal, oral, written and public speaking communications skills. Computer proficiency and experience in MS Word and Excel and data bases.

The Junior Project Manager will assist the Real Estate Development staff, including assisting with planning, implementation and monitoring of all phases of the development process. Responsibilities include researching properties, assisting with site due diligence, assembling funding application, tracking projects, managing requisitions and contract compliance, assisting with loan closings and overseeing construction. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, strong organizational and analytic skills, initiative and persistence. The Olneyville Housing Corporation (OHC) a community-based development organization, is seeking a talented individual to involve community members in the creation of a comprehensive development strategy for the Olneyville neighborhood. This position will be a part of Rhode Island LISC’s Sustainable Communities Initiative, a national pilot program to guide development and expand partnerships. The goal of the program is a healthy, self-sustaining community that benefits existing residents of the neighborhood and does not displace existing jobs and residents.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist residents, groups, organizations and institutions with identifying neighborhood assets and needs; Work with residents, groups, organizations and institutions to identify and nurture emerging leaders in the neighborhood; Share data and provide access to information for the benefit of residents, groups, organizations and institutions. Compile, assemble and distribute stories about the neighborhood community building, planning and implementation process; Organize and coordinate neighborhood meetings specific to community building and quality of life planning; Engage in neighborhood events for outreach and public relations.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum three years appropriate neighborhood experience; Skills and experience in training and education a plus; Demonstrated experience in an asset-based approach to community organizing a plus; A demonstrated commitment to the revitalization of urban neighborhoods, social justice, and grassroots policy change; Ability to work in evening and weekend hours regularly; Bi-lingual (Spanish and English) required.

The Town of Provincetown, Massachusetts and the Provincetown Community Housing Council (PCHC) seek an energetic, knowledgeable and visionary individual to lead the functions of the town’s newly created Housing Office. Working under the office of the Town Manager with oversight by the PCHC, the Housing Specialist will serve to advance efforts to create new community housing opportunities as well as preserve existing community housing options for residents of Provincetown. The Housing Specialist will serve as the Town’s point person on all community housing plans, proposals and permit applications as well as other related housing work. She/He will also serve as the staff support/liaison to the PCHC and the Community Preservation Committee.
Qualifications:Experience in financial resource identification and development including public/private grant writing and submission; Experience in grant and financial management; Knowledge of and experience with affordable/community housing programs, policies and resources at the state and federal levels; Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills; Strong computer skills including database and financial analysis and management software; Bachelors Degree or equivalent preferred.

The Community Action Manager is a new, full-time position at Madison Park Development Corporation, a community development corporation based in the Lower Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. This position will direct outreach workers and teen peer leaders in exciting resident-led initiatives that are helping to transform the community, including a youth collaborative, a voter education and mobilization coalition, a community learning center and advocacy efforts to bring more resources to our neighborhood. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
