The Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation (CEDAC) is a quasi-public state corporation which provides technical assistance and financing to community-based non-profit development organizations in the areas of housing, workforce development, and child care. The Executive Director is the chief executive officer for CEDAC, responsible for managing the overall operations of the agency. This position is responsible for carrying out the policy direction of the board of directors; managing CEDAC's relationships with the state’s Administration and the Legislature, the public and private agencies which provide loan capital and operational funding to CEDAC, and the agency’s constituency groups; overseeing CEDAC's corporate performance of its mission; supervising three Program Managers and the Director of Finance and Operations; and overseeing the agency’s fiscal performance. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors. Qualifications: Minimum bachelor's degree and ten to fifteen years related experience, including progressively more responsible experience in management and real estate finance and development. Senior level management experience and experience managing complex organizations required. Relevant master's degree preferred. Excellent written and verbal communications skills required. Ability to direct an experienced, highly motivated management team is critically important, as is a commitment to non-profit development.

The Elmwood Foundation and the Greater Elmwood Neighborhood Services CDC’s have been serving the greater Elmwood-Providence area for over 30 years. Both of these highly successful organizations have been committed to the preservation, restoration and creation of affordable housing and revitalizing neighborhoods by transforming underserved urban places through rebuilding livable neighborhoods, community assets and resident opportunity.
The Executive Director will be accountable for the overall leadership, direction and management of the agency’s resources to accomplish the CDC’s vision and goals. Reporting to the newly named Board of Directors, the primary responsibilities include fund and resource development and management, fiscal management, public and community relations, program operations, board collaboration and leading and developing staff.
Preferred experience and education:
BA/BS degree. Advanced degree or coursework in Urban Policy or Planning, Community Development or related field highly valued.
A minimum of 8-10 years senior leadership experience; preferably some experience in a non-profit organization.
An entrepreneurial leader, with demonstrated experience working in a community based, diverse environment.
Working knowledge of real estate, finance, creative financing/developing diversified funding streams required.

JP Centre/South Main Streets, a Boston Main Streets Program district, seeks an Executive Director (ED). Minimum requirement 3 years professional experience in more than one of the following areas: urban planning, community organizing, marketing, sales, public relations, nonprofit management, fundraising, volunteer management or related fields. The ED works with Board of Directors and committees and is the sole staff person.
Principal tasks will include program development, promotion of business district (including significant event planning for events like our popular First Thursdays art stroll), oversight of storefront improvement grants, membership development and fundraising. Works with Boston Main Streets, prepares reports, develops and maintains database and accounting systems.
Position requires excellent writing and computer skills, stamina, enthusiasm, flexibility, positive energy, and the ability to work collaboratively and independently. Fluency in Spanish a plus.
40 hours/week including evening meetings and weekend activities. $35K to $40K depending on
relevant skills and experience, plus benefits.
