Development Coordinator
Boston Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Coalition
04/18/2008 The Boston Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Coalition is a dynamic partnership of Boston area non-profit and community based organizations (CBOs), educational institutions, key businesses, and government agencies whose mission is to alleviate poverty in the City of Boston through free tax preparation and asset building strategies. The Coalition’s Development Coordinator position presents a wonderful opportunity for someone who has honed their fundraising skills or possesses an entrepreneurial spirit to work along side a talented staff at a burgeoning organization that has experienced exponential growth while making a difference in lives of thousands of Boston’s low-income families and individuals.

Working closely with the Coalition Director, the Development Coordinator will contribute to a fundraising effort including foundation and corporate support, prospect research, the development of solicitation strategies and participation in direct major donor solicitations. The Development Coordinator is a full-time (average of 35 hrs/week) contract position.
Responsibilities: Research potential foundation and corporate funding sources; Write grant proposals, budgets, concept papers and other necessary documents; Maintain and improve fundraising infrastructure including: foundation submission/research tracking spreadsheet, foundation submission work plan, contact tracking spreadsheet, and communication log, and filing system; Play a lead role in decisions relating to fundraising and organizational strategy; Assist in programmatic and organizational development; Produce income reports reconciling funds received and expenses.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience; Minimum of one years+ experience in fundraising for nonprofit institutions, or applicable educational experience; A gift for communicating in a clear and compelling fashion, an ability to communicate complex issues concisely, and adapt writing style as appropriate; Ability to work with numbers and manage finances; an understanding of budgeting is helpful; Ability to manage several projects simultaneously under deadline pressure; Exceptional organizational skills; Solid computer skills; intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet deadlines; Demonstrated commitment to social and economic justice and an eagerness to work collaboratively as part of a small, fast-growing organization.

Proposal Development Coordinator

03/18/2008 Vinfen is a non-profit human service agency that provides services to adults with psychiatric and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to transform the lives of individuals receiving our services. Vinfen offers a comprehensive benefits package.

We are looking for an experienced individual to coordinate the proposal development process for all Divisions in response to identified funding opportunities. This person will also edit drafts from content experts (Vinfen staff), produce original content as needed, and coordinate all required activities (including those performed by other Departments) to ensure successful submission of competitive proposals/grant applications. Also conducts focused research for proposals.

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in English or related field with 5-7 years of relevant experience writing and editing proposals, preferably in the non-profit/public sector. MULTIFAMILY FINANCING DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

02/26/2008 Review, analyze and underwrite proposals for affordable, mixed income and mixed-use multi-family and homeownership housing developments, which include complex, multi-source financing involving tax credits, bond financing and other debt/equity sources.
Typical developments are characterized by complex, multi-source financing involving taxable or tax exempt bond financing, low income housing tax credits, federal HOME funds, and other debt and equity sources. Given the highly negotiated structure of this financing and the wide range of clients with whom Rhode Island Housing works, excellent communications skills and an ability to work with a variety of constituents, including non-profit sponsors, for profit developers, investors, and public organizations, is essential.
Minimum five years experience in commercial real estate lending and/or real estate development with concentration in multifamily underwriting, appraisal review, documentation and closing; working knowledge of federal and state housing subsidy programs; excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; strong computer skills, including spreadsheet and report writing applications; Bachelors degree in business administration, real estate or related field (Masters preferred).
