HOPE NOW (www.hopenow.com)is an alliance between counselors, mortgage companies, investors, and other mortgage market participants. This alliance will maximize outreach efforts to homeowners in distress to help them stay in their homes and will create a unified, coordinated plan to reach and help as many homeowners as possible. The Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development encouraged leaders in the lending industry, investors and non-profits to form this alliance.
- The Homeowner's HOPE™ Hotline at 888-995-HOPE™ is a counseling service provided by the Homeownership Preservation Foundation (HPF). HPF is an independent nonprofit that provides counselors dedicated to helping homeowners from HUD certified housing counseling agencies. Homeowner's HOPE™ Hotline counselors are experts in foreclosure prevention and trained to set up a plan of action.
- HOPE NOW Events Across the country, homeowners can get face to face help from servicers and counselors. These events are an opportunity to learn more about local housing task force efforts and state programs that offer assistance. These events can be sponsored by a local counseling agency or an alliance of concerned housing partners.
- HOPE LoanPort™ helps homeowners get a faster answer, via a housing counselor, on whether or not they qualify for a modification loan. It addresses some of the hurdles borrowers face when seeking a modification. Though over thousands of borrowers are currently in the trial HAMP modification process, many have not submitted all the required documentation to make that modification final. HOPE LoanPort™ portal allows counselors to help with the collection of necessary documents from homeowners, upload the completed package directly to servicers and track the status of a borrower's application.
