Workshop: Managing a housing trust

Learn about types of local activities, how to create an action plan

FRAMINGHAM --- MHP will sponsor a workshop on how Municipal Affordable Housing Trusts (MAHT) can help communities maintain and increase their supply of affordable housing. The workshop will be held on Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (registration will begin at 9:30 a.m.) at the Framingham United Christ of Church Conference Center, One Badger Road, Framingham, MA 01702.

This workshop will go beyond the conception of a trust and instead will focus on the management, types of projects and programs trusts can engage in. In addition to experts Jennifer Goldson and Attorney Kathleen O'Donnell sharing their experiences in helping communities set up and manage trusts, representatives from several communities will discuss their successes and challenges in using trusts.

The afternoon will be spent in small groups allowing participants to work on action plans for their trusts. Please fill out the brief questionnaire on your registration form to ensure that topics that interest you will be discussed.

Registration for this workshop is $25 for municipalities, housing authorities and other non-profits and $75 for any attendees from for-profit organizations.
