This report provides a housing affordability index for every Massachusetts city and town by comparing median incomes with median home sale prices. The study finds that only 9 of 127 communities in Greater Boston were affordable to a household earning the median income. The report also finds that housing affordability problems are significant in nearly every other metropolitan area in the state.
