In order to better understand that effect that housing affordability has on migration and to gain insight into current public opinion on a number of housing issues, researchers at the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute recently conducted a poll on behalf of CHAPA. The poll includes a statewide sample and a sampling of residents in the MetroWest region. The report found that nearly 46 percent of Massachusetts residents are seriously considering moving out of state. Additionally 56 percent of Massachusetts residents and 51 percent of MetroWest residents cited themselves as 'very concerned' about the cost of housing in their area.
